Chapter 1 -
"-Hey Peter, are you going to bring that?" Jane looked a bit surprised that I was putting my surf shorts in the backpack.
"-Yes, maybe it's going to be really hot one day up there. You know, with the snow reflecting the sun. In case we come across some water, it could be refreshing with a swim", I told her. We were packing our bags for the trip of our life, a three week hike in the south american Andes.Written by Emil (17-09-2006 17:25:14)
"-You're crazy Peter. Its going to be freezing up there. I don't think the snow ever melts where we're going." Jane rolled her eyes. "-I read a story about the Andes once. A boy travelled for days with his llama to get down to a village. Are we going to be that far from civilization? Are we going to see llamas? We aren't going to have internet access, will we?"
I finished going over the stuff in my bag, making sure I had everything, and checking for my passport one more time. "-No babe, no internet, no cell phone, no television. Ready to go?" I was anxious to get to the airport.

I didn't know why I was so anxious about it. Originally, this should have been one big boring trip for me and Jane. We couldn't live without technology. Yet here we were. Going on a trip to goodness knows where. I wonder who I'll meet there, or maybe if I'll even meet someone. From what Jane said, there didn't seem to be much chance of there being anyone but us.
I gave a side-glance to Jane. I wonder how we could stay there so long. She was always criticizing me. Always rolling her eyes in her sickening way. But she's my sister after all. Dislike her as much as I like, I could never stop loving her.
